Mykonos' most bohemian beach is found to the north of Mykonos Town, about a 7km-drive away. The frequent winds make it a favorite of windsurfers, but also keep almost everyone else away. It’s therefore never crowded, and only a small section by the bar has sunbeds.
It’s worth going up the steps to the bar for a view over the beach. You’ll see that it’s quite large, but remains surprisingly (and thankfully) undeveloped. You’ll always have plenty of space to spread your towel, and often no one around you in the crystal-clear sea (but usually have to fight the wind).
How to Get to Ftelia Beach
No buses go to Ftelia, but it’s an easy drive from Mykonos Town, heading in the direction of Ano Mera. It takes less than 20 minutes to reach, and there’s plenty of parking right by the beach.
