Known as a family-friendly beach, Ornos is also one of Mykonos' trendiest, most popular and crowded. It offers lots of restaurants and places to stay, and is a frequent stop of many boats and yachts.
It’s located in the south of the island, and is for those who prefer a more developed, resort atmosphere.
Its calm waters are great for swimming and the hotels behind it offer sea views (see below).
How to Get to Ornos Beach

Hotels in Ornos Beach
Santa Marina Resort
This is one of the island's largest hotels. It’s a resort standing on a peninsula above the sea with its own semi-private beach, attracting all kinds of guests, from families to honeymooning couples. There’s an infinity pool overlooked by the restaurant, a spa, a tennis court, a children’s pool and playground, a gym, and even a hair salon. Most of the rooms face the sea and have a balcony.
Kensho Ornos
This well-designed boutique hotel is the choice for couples. Almost every room has its own private pool or hot tub, and combines luxury with traditional Cycladic elements. Most open to a terrace with sea, pool or mountain views. The beach is just a short walk away. There’s also an award-winning restaurant, a bar serving signature cocktails, a spa and fitness center.
Kivotos Mykonos Hotel
It has a private beach and several rooms with a private pool, but the sand of Ornos is just a short walk away. Alternatively, there are also two swimming pools, a spa, and a fitness center. Each room is different, decorated by local craftsmen and artists. The restaurant overlooks the bay, as do many of the rooms.
Mykonos Ammos Hotel
It has a pool, but you’ll likely head straight to the sea which is right outside. This hotel provides a 5-star service, which includes a spa, gym, and restaurant opening to the sea. Most rooms have a balcony or terrace, some facing the pool or the sea, and a couple of them with an outdoor hot tub.
Mykonos Blanc Hotel
Located right on the beach, this hotel is almost entirely made up of suites. They face the sea or the garden, and some have a hot tub outside on the terrace. There’s also a pool with sea views, a spa, and a restaurant.
Myconian O
Rooms vary in size, from 33 to 135 square meters, and many include a private pool, but all feature a sophisticated design. Guests who don’t stay in a room with a private pool can still dive in the common swimming pool, which has a bar serving cocktails. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are also served by the pool, at the restaurant with refined cuisine for dinner. In addition to the relaxing location by the beach, it offers a spa with a wide selection of treatments. At the well-equipped gym, guests are free to have private or group training sessions.
