Paraga Beach

An alternative to the neighboring Paradise party beach

Paraga Beach, Mykonos

A relatively small beach, Paraga (often also spelled "Paranga") is one of Mykonos' most popular for several reasons -- it’s within walking distance of the Paradise party beach, it can be reached by a frequent bus, is faced by a couple of good hotels (see below), and has trendy beach clubs.

Paraga Beach, Mykonos

By the bus stop is a mini market where you can grab snacks, water and beach items such as flip flops and sunscreen. Right in front is the access to the beach. From here you can see the island of Delos in the distance.

Although it doesn’t offer much space for privacy, nude sunbathing is relatively common (on the right side). Continue walking to the right and you reach three other beaches -- Agia Anna, Platys Gialos and Psarou.

There are sunbeds and parasols for rent on the left and middle sections of the beach, close to the bars (which play loud music throughout the day). There are two bars behind the beach (upscale SantAnna and lively Kalua) and another over the rocks on the right side (stylish Scorpios).
The water is calm and crystal clear and good for swimming, but watch the rocks along the shore.

How to Get to Paraga Beach

Paraga is the southernmost beach on the island, and can easily be reached by a frequent bus, in 15 minutes, from Mykonos Town (departing from the Fabrika terminal).
