Mykonos is used to attracting a large number of gay visitors (and part of their disposable income) every year, so it wouldn’t dare discriminate. However, the number of hotels exclusively catering to gay tourism has declined. That’s because there’s now competition from other destinations in the Mediterranean, so “gay hotels” had to also become “straight hotels,” and the regular non-gay accommodation has also become gay-friendly. The need to protect yourself from unfriendly territory by looking for gay-only accommodation doesn’t apply to Mykonos, and it’s safe to say that all hotels on the island are gay-friendly. However, if you’re gay you’ll probably want a convenient location close to the gay bars or gay beaches, or may prefer to be certain that you’re surrounded by “like-minded” guests.
