Often also spelled Platis Gialos (and sometimes Platis Yialos), this large beach is quite popular, thanks to the number of hotels which are almost literally on the sand.

The hotels, sunbeds and parasols, plus the shallow and clear waters, usually attract families and young couples and make it the most crowd-pleasing beach in Mykonos.

Those who wish to explore other beaches, can hop on a water taxi that departs from here, around every hour, to Paradise, Super Paradise and other beaches on the southern end of the island.

How to Get to Platys Gialos Beach

Buses from Mykonos Town to Platys Gialos depart from the Fabrika terminal and take about 15 minutes. They stop just a few feet from the beach, outside the Petasos Hotel (pictured above). For more information about the Mykonos bus terminals, look here: Mykonos Buses
You can also walk from Paradise Beach, Paraga, and Agia Anna. Keep walking to the right and you reach Psarou. For the exact location of these beaches, see the Mykonos beaches map.
